Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of a sensory swing?

Sensory swings bring together play, movement, and comfort in one simple activity.

The gentle, rhythmic motion of swinging allows children to move freely while exploring balance and understanding where their body is in space, all while having fun.

The soft fabric creates a secure, hug-like feeling that provides gentle pressure, which can help some children feel more settled and aware of their body.

Some children enjoy bigger, more active movement, while others prefer slower, gentler motion.

These ideas are based on sensory principles commonly used in homes, schools, and sensory-friendly play spaces. Every child is different, but many families enjoy sensory swings as a fun way to move, play, and unwind.

What is the maximum weight that the swing can hold?

The swing can hold up to 130kg, and should only be used by one person at a time.

What is the minimum age?

We recommend a minimum age of at least 3 years before playing on our swing.

Does the swing work with tall ceilings? Is the swing adjustable?

Yes. The swing height can be adjusted to varying ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.65m, using the daisy chain included. The daisy chain is 132cm long and adds a maximum of 120 cm in additional length. We include detailed instructions for different ceiling heights

If your ceiling is higher than 3.65m, you may require additional straps or daisy chain. The maximum recommended swing height of the seat is 60cm (measured from the ground to the bottom of the fabric swing).

Is the swing washable?

Yes! Our swing is easily cleaned using a damp cloth and mild soap. If needed, you can machine wash the swing fabric in a cold-water delicate-wash cycle and hang to dry. Do not bleach.

Can the swing spin around?

The swing is intended to be used for static hanging and gentle swinging. Spinning is only recommended when using our 360 swivel (sold separately, email us at support@kuschla.co). If you spin the swing without a swivel it can cause excess wear and tear of the swing fabric.

What type of ceiling is required to safely install the swing?

For safe installation, the ceiling hook must be secured into a solid structural ceiling, such as a wooden ceiling joist or solid concrete ceiling.

We include standard screws and a ceiling mount, suitable for wooden ceiling joists.

If you are installing the swing into a concrete ceiling, you will need to use suitable concrete fixings, which aren’t included.

For safety reasons, the swing must not be installed into drywall or plasterboard alone.
